STYLIST LEVELS
EMERGING STYLIST
Our emerging stylists will be nearing the completion of their apprenticeship. They will have completed or be near to completing 2 years at Tafe and well over 2 years in our salon. They will be continuing their education both in salon and using externally sourced education. They will be competent in the services that they offer but may take a little longer to complete some services and will always be able to ask for advice from the rest of the team.
SENIOR STYLIST
Our senior stylists will be fully qualified both in salon and at Tafe. They will be fully competent in the services that they offer. Our Senior stylists will be developing their own specialist services and may not want to continue offering all the services offered by our salon. We fully encourage this approach to their career. The senior stylists in our salon will continue to grow with experience and continual, focused education. Our senior stylists will mentor junior members of our team and will be working towards becoming a head stylist in our team.
HEAD STYLIST
Our head stylists are fully qualified and experienced hairdressers with over 3 years post qualification experience. They will be extremely competent and confident in all the services that they offer. We encourage our head stylists to choose services that they fully enjoy and wish to dedicate most of their career too. We support these choices by providing continued and focused education. They play a senior role within the salon, mentoring the junior members of the team and passing on their skills and knowledge.

LILY

I’ve been working at Hair Dare You since leaving school in 2023. As a junior stylist, I’m still building my skill set. Foiling allows me to demonstrate my creative side, and I know that the more I learn, the more I’ll be able to focus on a favourite area. For now, I’m enjoying building my knowledge and skills.
I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser, so it’s hard to think about what I’d do instead, but maybe nails, brows or lashes.
I definitely have the travel bug and would love to explore the world.
I think others would describe me as friendly, mature and independent, and I’m happy with that.
I love all fruit (apart from bananas) and a good charcuterie board, I’m all about a picky plate. It’s an ice-cold bottle of water for me… although I do love a Disaronno and Coke! Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my family, preferably at the beach.

EMILY

I’ve been hairdressing since leaving school in 2021. I started as a Saturday junior at Hair Dare You and then went on to complete my apprenticeship.
I love upstyling and blonde colour work. My job allows me to lift a client’s confidence and see them smile when they look in the mirror.
If I hadn’t chosen to be a hairdresser, I would most likely have followed in the footsteps of my family who work in the aquatic industry. I’m determined to live my life to the fullest and to travel around Australia. I think others would describe me as energetic, understanding and outgoing,
I’m always laughing too! As a nod to my Italian heritage, I love any type of homemade pasta. My go-to drink is an alcoholic ginger beer or an ice-cold lemon, lime and bitters. When I’m not working, I love camping, it’s a great way to explore new places.

ABBEY

I’ve been hairdressing since leaving school in 2018. I started my apprenticeship with Hair Dare You and I’ve been here ever since.
I love chemical straightening and big colour services, whether that be foils, bleach on scalp or colour correction. I enjoy long services and find the repetitive motions relaxing. If I wasn’t hairdressing, I would have worked in early childcare, in a daycare, pre-kindy or as a nanny. I love kids and babies, and I grew up with lots of siblings. I don’t have any crazy life goals, but I can’t wait to have my own house and kids sometime in the near future.
At the beginning of meeting me, most people would describe me as quiet, but once you get to know me, I can be quite chatty. I’m also content being quiet and calm. I love most sweet things, especially cake and chocolate, as well as breads, pastries and donuts, pretty much anything that’s yummy and unhealthy. I love black coffee and lots of different teas. When I’m not at work, I like to wind down after a busy week. I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, and relaxing with my partner.

LILLI

I’ve been hairdressing since leaving school at 14 in 2010.
I love corrective work, whether that’s through corrective cutting, colouring, or using extensions. I really enjoy seeing a client’s confidence grow as they start to love their hair again. If I wasn’t a hairdresser, I think I would be a beauty therapist or doing something with children. Working with kids was never something I was interested in until having my own and watching her learn and grow.
It’s important to me to have a good work/life balance. I want to give my clients and Hair Dare You the best of me, whilst also giving my husband and kids the same. I’d also love to see more of the world!
I think others would describe me as a little bit of sweet and a lot of spice. I’m an all-or-nothing kind of girl. I’d describe myself as generous, fiercely loyal and a true Scorpio. My favourite food is anything chocolate and a good charcuterie board. My drink of choice would be a crisp French rosé or a strong coffee. If you like chatting, laughing loudly, hype girl energy and a little bit of spice in your appointments, then I’m your girl!

SINEAD

I have been in the hair industry since 2013 and have worked in several different salons around Perth. Some of my favourite things to do in hairdressing are personalised blonding, grey blending and colour transformations. Above all, I really enjoy making people feel understood, confident and beautiful.
I previously worked in disabilities and as an education assistant, which I did enjoy. If hairdressing wasn’t my long-term career, I would likely be a psychologist or social worker, something still centred around caring for others.
I’d love to build a home and live a happy life with my family and friends. Children are definitely on the cards for me at some point too.
Others would describe me as someone who wears her heart on her sleeve, loyal, truthful and down-to-earth, with a little bit of Scorpio sass. I love a coffee, Diet Coke, and I can never go past a cheeky cocktail.
My favourite foods are creamy pasta and a good charcuterie board.
I strive to offer my clients the best experience, to feel heard and nurtured. I’m always up for a good laugh and chat, and I want my clients to know I offer a safe space where they can just be themselves. Clients aren’t just ‘clients’ to me.

OLIVIA

I joined Hair Dare You in 2025. I am passionate and dedicated, with a huge interest in all aspects of hairdressing, as well as meeting new and interesting people.
I would love to eventually own my own salon and give other young people the chance to experience this amazing profession.
It was a tough choice between hairdressing and childcare, but since starting my apprenticeship, I know I’ve made the right decision.
When I’m not working, I love to dance, which I’ve been doing for almost ten years. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, who would describe me as happy, friendly and caring, someone who always has their back.

SAMANTHA

I come from a family of hairdressers, so I’d say I’ve been hairdressing my whole life.
I’ve been through every fashion trend (and even seen them repeat themselves), but the constant, and in my opinion, the most important part of hairdressing, is cutting. Seeing how a great, well-executed cut can transform a head of hair is exhilarating. Having scissors in my hands is my happy place.
I love cooking and feeding family and friends, and I also enjoy hosting. If I hadn’t chosen to be a hairdresser, I think I would have trained to be a chef. Family and friends are everything to me, so cooking for them when I’m not working brings me the utmost joy.
I think I’d be described as thoughtful, nurturing and compassionate, if not a little loud at times! But I can also read a room and know when to be a quieter version of myself.
Life throws all sorts of curveballs at us, something I know from personal experience, but also from listening to and sharing in the experiences of my clients. I am a wiser woman because of the conversations I’ve had over the past 30+ years. I continue to grow, both as a hairdresser and as a person… dragging the team along with me!
